Answers to common questions from students and parents about the study abroad process.
Admissions
How many universities should I apply to?
We typically recommend 5–8 applications, balanced across ambitious, target and realistic categories. This gives you options without overwhelming you or the admissions timeline.
Do I need to take IELTS or TOEFL?
Most universities abroad require English proficiency evidence. Some waive it based on English-medium education (like an Indian bachelor's taught in English), but this varies. Check each university's specific requirements.
What is a gap year and will it hurt my chances?
A gap year is time taken off between degrees. If you use it productively — working, volunteering, or upskilling — it can actually strengthen your application. We help you frame your gap year positively in your SOP.
Education Loans
How much education loan can I get?
It depends on the lender, your program cost, collateral (for secured loans) and your co-applicant's profile. Secured loans can reach ₹40 lakh or more; unsecured loans usually cap around ₹50 lakh depending on the lender. Compare multiple banks and NBFCs before deciding.
Do I need collateral for an education loan?
Not always. Unsecured loans up to ₹50 lakh are available from some banks and NBFCs based on the co-applicant's income and credit score. However, secured loans (with collateral like property) usually offer lower interest rates and higher loan amounts.
General
Do you guarantee admission to a specific university?
No. Admissions are decided by universities based on your profile. We help you build a realistic shortlist, prepare strong applications, and meet deadlines — but we never guarantee admission to any specific program.
Do you guarantee a student visa?
No. Visa decisions are made by the destination country's government. We help you prepare your documents, understand the process, and attend your interview prepared — but the final decision is out of our hands.
Where is Study Abroad Experts located?
We're based in Nashik, Maharashtra. You can visit our office, call us, or book a free consultation online. Details are on the Contact page.
Do you help students from outside Nashik?
Absolutely. While our office is in Nashik, we work with students from all over India via phone, email, and video consultations. The process is exactly the same.
Scholarships
Can I get a full scholarship for study abroad?
Full scholarships exist but are highly competitive. Most students combine partial scholarships with family funds and education loans. We help you identify scholarships you're eligible for and prepare strong applications — but awards are decided by the awarding body.
How do I apply for scholarships?
Scholarship applications are often separate from admission applications. They usually require an additional essay, specific references, and proof of financial need or merit. Deadlines are often earlier than admission deadlines, so we start the process early.
Visa
How long does a student visa take?
It varies by country. US F-1 visa interviews can be booked within days. Canadian study permits usually take 4–12 weeks. UK Student Route decisions are typically within 3 weeks. Australian visas are usually within a month but can be longer.
What if my visa is rejected?
We help you understand the reason given in the rejection letter and plan next steps. Depending on the country and reason, you may be able to reapply, appeal, or apply to a different program. We don't guarantee success on the second attempt either, but we will give you honest advice.
Can I work while studying abroad?
Yes, most countries allow international students to work part-time during term time (usually 20 hours per week) and full-time during breaks. Countries like Australia allow up to 48 hours per fortnight. Always check the specific rules for your destination.
